My client, Ashley, was gasping for breath. \u201cI just ran down four flights of stairs from my boss\u2019 office,\u201d she panted. \u201cMargaret was supposed to speak at our industry\u2019s annual convention next week, but she\u2019s been called out of town to meet with our biggest client. Now she wants me to speak in her place.\u201d Before I could respond, Ashley added, \u201cI\u2019m absolutely terrified of speaking in public. On a conscious level, I hadn\u2019t a clue.
